Dave's Blues

"As long as there are dedicated blues troubadours such as Dave Diprose carrying on this century old music tradition, it will continue to not only survive, but flourish".
Al Hensley (Rhythms Magazine).

Dave’s Blues is based on the solo acoustic traditions of the Delta/Country Bluesmen such as Robert Johnson, Charley Patton, Blind Willie Johnson, early Muddy Waters and Big Bill Broonzy. While most contemporary blues performers are rooted in the “British Invasion” experience Dave goes back further playing bass lines with the thumb and bottleneck slide melodies with the finger. This dynamic style of playing can have a small room jumping or crying and larger crowds fascinated with how much energy one man on an acoustic guitar can bring.

Dave’s original blues sound like they came straight from Mississippi and yet the lyrics echo contemporary themes. Highly regarded in Melbourne’s blues community Dave has been a regular at festivals, clubs and bars performing his powerful Old School Blues.
